Hi. We’re Skeleton Gamblers.

We create communication design with people like you. We do brand, print and web design (as well as a whole lot of other creative things), and we can figure out the best ways to tell the world who you are, what you do and where you plan to go. Everyone has an important story to share, and we believe great communication design always begins with a conversation.

We’ll put our heads together with you to identify your objectives and generate sophisticated concepts that tell your story with clarity and purpose. We understand that everyone needs something different, so our work reflects everything that’s great about yours. We can build your brand from the ground up, or partner with you at any step along the way to help bring your project to life.

Skeleton Gamblers is an agile team
of experienced design professionals, with expertise across a range of creative disciplines.

In addition to our principal designers, we have a network of talented associates who lend us a hand from time to time. These collaborations are invariably rewarding, and working with people we admire is among the most enjoyable things we get to do.

Simon Horsburgh / Creative Director

Simon established Skeleton Gamblers in 2010, and brings more than twenty years’ experience in art and design to his role as Creative Director. He has an MFA (Research) from the Victorian College of the Arts, and when not flat-out with Skeleton Gamblers, he lectures in art and design.

Simon usually has a pencil in his hand; mapping an idea, sketching a concept, connecting the dots... He is an inspired conceptual thinker and his ability to transform ideas and objectives into powerful visual messages is at the heart of everything we do. Simon works across a range of creative disciplines, including communication design, illustration and 3D mixed-media design.

In addition to his commercial work, Simon has exhibited his visual art extensively in Australia and abroad. It has been recognised variously through publications, prizes, grants, scholarships and residencies. Simon has also been actively involved in the creative community, mentoring emerging artists, writing on contemporary art and spending several years on the management committee of artist-run organisation West Space.

Andrew Magart / Digital Lead

Andrew is our web guy, and he’s been with Skeleton Gamblers from the beginning. He has a BSc (Hons), MA in Multimedia, and almost twenty years experience as a Multimedia Developer.

Andrew specializes in high quality database-driven websites, web applications and e-commerce solutions. He has a happy knack for patiently translating the mysteries of HTML for those of us who think in colours and shapes.

His custom work ranges from minor tweaks of exisiting code, or building websites that are user-friendly enough for clients to manage, to the development of business-critical bespoke web applications for inventory tracking, stock ordering and booking systems.

Andrew’s design and development experience enables him to achieve the pixel-perfect standards we routinely demand. He can provide clients with ongoing tech support, or walk them through the back-end of their new site until they feel confident enough to proceed on their own.
